This will be my fifth year teaching at Fulton Middle School. I have taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies, Career Investigation, and Foreign Cultures. I am currently on Fulton Middle School's Professional Learning Committee, and have worked as a paraprofessional for students with special needs. I graduated from Miami University with a Bachelors of Science in Social Studies Education and Minor in History in 2008. I recently graduated from William Woods University after completeing their Master's administrative program.
My main focus as an educator is to help my students develop a better understanding of their world and how it operates. Children in my classroom participate in debates, work collaboratively, create projects, utilize their artistic creativity, use research skills, write historical essays, demonstrate their ability to reason and share their understanding with others. There is a large emphasis on group work in my class. Social Studies is best understood when engaging in work with others!
I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. In my free time, I enjoy watching the Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. I also enjoy playing video games, board games, and reading.
