George Yates

This is my 11th year as a math teacher at FMS. Every year is an opportunity for me to connect with, and inspire kids. I just happen to be lucky enough that I get to do it through a subject like math where numbers can be mysterious and intriguing. Teaching math is fun and my goal for the students, besides learning curriculum, is for them to develop a true interest in the subject and have a desire to learn more about it in the world.
I hold a bachelors degree in computer information systems from Missouri Valley College, a bachelors degree in elementary education 1-6 from WWU with an emphasis on middle school math 5-9, and a masters of education in administration, also from William Woods University.
This will be my 6th season coaching the Fulton high school cross country team. Coaching allows me to connect with kids through athletics and provides me the opportunity to develop the whole child in conjunction with academics.
I am married to the most awesome woman on earth and have 4 incredibly awesome children that I love very much. I also love to run, play my guitar, and read books to my kids... and run... and do math.
