Bio Information

Mrs. Barton is married and has 3 children. Brayden is the oldest of her children, and she has twin daughters Abby and Elise. She enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping, and gardening. Mrs. Barton has recently discovered she really enjoys traveling and discovering new places and trying out the traditional foods of indigenous people. Books are just about her favorite thing in the world and considered among her most prized possessions. Murder Mystery Thrillers are her favorite reads. She's turned into a computer "Geek" and loves to talk on the phone with her sisters who recently moved back to Utah from Virginia and North Dakota. Friday nights find her watching DVDs and eating pizza. Papa Murphy's Chicken Garlic Pizza is her favorite.

Education

Rebecca S. Barton graduated from Utah State University in the June of 1994 with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a minor in Art History.

In 2009 she graduated with a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National University located in La Jolla, CA. However, she didn't go to California for her studies. She did most of her classes online and worked through classes with cohort group of teachers at a local High School.

Mrs. Barton also worked hard to earn a National Board certificate in Early Childhood Education in December 2010.

Work Experience

Mrs. Barton began teaching in Utah at Layton Elementary in 1996 where she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades over 6 years. In 2002 she began teaching at Heritage Elementary when it opened as a brand new school. She taught 2nd grade there for 9 years.

Mrs. Barton began teaching at McIntire Elementary in 2011 in the 4th grade. She feels very glad to have the opportunity to live an adventure in a new place and meet new people. She LOVES being back in 2nd grade and living in a small town.
