Mrs. Barton is married and has 3 children. Brayden is the oldest of her children. He is attending college at Utah State University, (His parent's alma mater). She has twin daughters, Abby and Elise, who are Juniors at Fulton High School. She enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and camping, (At least high in the Rocky Mountains). Her husband, Dr. Barton, is a veterinarian and works at a practice in Mexico, MO.
Mrs. Barton enjoys traveling and discovering new places and trying out the traditional foods of different cultures. Books are just about her favorite thing in the world and considered among her most prized possessions. Murder Mystery Thrillers are her favorite reads.
Rebecca S. Barton graduated from Utah State University in the June of 1994 with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a minor in Art History.
In 2009 she graduated with a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National University located in La Jolla, CA. However, she didn't go to California for her studies. She did most of her classes online and worked through classes with cohort group of teachers at a local High School.
Mrs. Barton also worked hard to earn a National Board certificate in Early Childhood Education in December 2010.
Mrs. Barton began teaching at a private preschool in Northern Utah. Later she got her first public school job in Utah at Layton Elementary in 1996 where she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades over 6 years. In 2002 she began teaching at Heritage Elementary when it opened as a brand new school. She taught 2nd grade there for 9 years.
Mrs. Barton began teaching fourth grade at McIntire Elementary in 2011. She switched to second grade in 2013. She feels very glad to have the opportunity to live an adventure in a new place and meet new people. She LOVES being back in 2nd grade and living in a small town.
