MISSION

The mission of the Fulton Public School District is to prepare all students to function as successful, responsible, and productive citizens.

VISION

The vision of the Fulton Public School District is to be a model educational leader that is recognized for ensuring academic achievement; demonstrating excellence in programs, staff and facilities; engaging all students as lifelong learners; and is supported by positive family and community involvement.

RATIONALE

The district worked with an external agency to gather stakeholder input and analyze data to identify strategic priorities.  Three areas for resource allocation and accountability were selected: student success, postsecondary readiness, and recruitment and retention.  Improvements in facilities, technology, and safety will continue to be maintained as the foundation elements that support the focus areas.

Student Success
  • The district's MAP Performance (MPI) will be "On Track" for the annual targets in academic achievement in all tested areas based on the Missouri Assessment Program.

  • The district will improve early literacy outcomes by using assessment data, targeted reading interventions, evidence-based instructional practices, and strategies to address chronic absenteeism in the early elementary grades.

  • 90% of students will meet or exceed the state's annual attendance target of 90% attendance.
Post Secondary Readiness
  • Students will meet or exceed the state's annual graduation target of 92%.

  • Increase college and career readiness to 75% on the CCR assessment on the Annual Performance Report.

  • Annually identify and evaluate partnership opportunities to expand career exploration experiences for students.

  • Fulton Public Schools will adopt a districtwide Portrait of a Graduate that clearly defines the knowledge, skills and character traits every student is expected to have by graduation.
Recruitment and Retention
  • Fulton Public Schools will retain at least 90% of certified staff annually.

  • Fulton Public Schools will hire highly qualified staff, with 95% of certified instructional positions filled by qualified personnel.
