Our district has adopted the "I Love U Guys" Foundation Standard Response Protocol (SRP).  

Easy to understand. Easy to implement. A uniform, planned, and practiced response to any incident is the foundation of a safe school. Safe business. Safe community. The SRP is action-based, flexible, and easy to learn. It rationally organizes tactics for response to weather events, fires, accidents, intruders, and other threats to safety.

On the Same Page. Everyone. By standardizing the vocabulary, all stakeholders can understand the response and status of the event. For students, this provides continuity of expectations and actions throughout their educational career. For staff, this process becomes simpler to train and drill. For communities, it leverages the growing adoption of the protocols from residents of all ages. For first responders, the common vocabulary and protocols establish a greater predictability that persists through the duration of an incident. People easily understand the practices and can reinforce the protocol. Additionally, this protocol enables rapid response determination when an unforeseen event occurs.

Fulton Public Schools has identified the "Stop The Bleed" Program as our protocol for traumatic blood loss.  

The Stop the Bleed campaign was initiated by a federal interagency workgroup convened by the National Security Council Staff, The White House. This collaborative effort was led by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) to bring knowledge of bleeding control to the public and build national resilience.

Stop the Bleed courses train the public to save lives through three basic actions that can stop life-threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies, as well as man-made and natural disasters.

Things that you need to be aware of are:

• Wait until we say where & WHEN to meet your child. We must ensure that the location we are transporting our students to is safe before they arrive. We understand that your primary concern is reaching your student, but we must ensure their safety. Parents/Guardians running toward a reunification site causes more panic. The only thing law enforcement sees are adults running toward a scene. They don't know who you are and will treat you like a stranger. Once the place we are using to get you back together with your child is safe, we will let you know where to go and what to do. In these situations, we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
• Bring your photo ID. The people getting you back together with your child might not be from the school your child attends. We must ensure that every student reunites with the correct adult. There are many things, such as custody arrangements, that we need to verify. This takes time. Thank you for your understanding, as we are doing everything to ensure the safety of our students.
• Don't rush to the school. In the event of a crisis, the last thing that is needed is unknown adults coming to the school. While you may be known to the regular school staff, law enforcement officers may not be familiar with you. When a crisis event happens, everyone becomes a stranger until we verify who they are. Your goal is to get to your student. Our goal is to get your student back to you. If we have to deal with adults rushing to the school, we are delayed in getting the students to a safe location. We will inform you of the location where you can meet your student. Please wait until we tell you where to go. We know this is challenging, but it will help us keep the process as quick and efficient as possible.
• We will tell you want we can when we can. As we assess situations, we may need to temporarily relocate students before moving them to a final reunification site. Or we might keep them where they are. These are all of the decisions being made by law enforcement and school officials. Once we know, we will tell you. Things can change as an event transpires. We ask that you wait until we have informed you of all the details before trying to get your student. Once again, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we ensure that the reunification locations we use are safe for our students and that we can carry out our reunification plans effectively.
