Candidates for NHS Membership
How do I join National Honor Society?
At the start of second semester, the Fulton Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) will begin identifying candidates for the Fall Membership Induction. Initial academic eligibility is determined by cumulative grade point average, which must meet or exceed our chapter’s standard for Scholarship currently set at 3.50. Upon achieving academic eligibility, candidates are invited to complete a Candidate Form detailing their Character, Leadership, and Service. A minimum of five hours of recent service must be documented on the Candidate Form for continued eligibility.
Current sophomores and juniors who are academically eligible for membership consideration will be notified via email approximately May 1. If a student is academically eligible, having earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50, and does not receive a notification of eligibility, he or she should contact Mrs. Bethell or Mrs. Bonderer immediately. Please see our additional information for membership candidates.
Students who are accepted into the Fulton Chapter of the NHS will attend an induction ceremony in the fall. To remain a member in good standing, students must maintain their academic standing, their strong character and leadership qualities, participate in required NHS group service projects, and complete at least twenty (20) hours of documented individual service to maintain the Service requirement for membership.
