The Emerging Educator of the Year Award was created to recognize an early-career teacher (within their first five years) who shows exceptional promise, passion, and a strong foundation for future excellence in education. The Emerging Educator of the Year Award will join our other yearly awards (Teacher of the Year, Support Staff of the Year & the David W. White Outstanding Service to Education Award).

Fulton Public Schools has been selected as a recipient of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant, which will provide up to $400,000 annually to implement a new RISE (Responsive Intervention and Student Enrichment) Program.  This highly competitive federal grant is renewable for up to 5 years, with a potential total of $1.9 million, subject to annual federal appropriation.

Starting in September 2026, the RISE program will serve students in grades K-8 who qualify academically, providing a structured environment where they will participate in small-group academic intervention and enrichment activities, extending learning and support beyond the school day.  Instruction will be provided by RISE teachers and will align with the current curriculum.  Participants will receive a snack and a meal each day, and consolidated transportation services will be provided, ensuring students and families are supported.  The RISE program will not replace the current after-school tutoring offered, but will operate in conjunction with it.

The search for the RISE Program Director is underway.  This part-time position will oversee the operations of the RISE Program; interested parties can find additional information, including the full job description, by visiting fulton58.org/employment.  Additional information, including eligibility and program details, will be shared with families soon.
